End of Year Exam topics for revision

The first of your exam is going to be multiple choice covering subjects from this year. Then a series of short answer questions covering the following: Things Science can't explain : Immortality and miracles covering the following aspects: 

  • Considerations the meaning of death, and the afterlife
  • Reasonableness of such belief, as well as the problems created by it. 
  • Ideas of what would count as immortality – reincarnation, resurrection, rebirth, a legacy, as a memory of others; 
  • The problems associated with any of these options of immortality; 
  • Evidence of immortality, such as scriptural accounts, ghost experience, channeling, Near Death Experience and revelation;
  • Evidence against immortality, such as lack of proof, science, atheism; 
  • The concept (idea) of dualism, and the mind/body/soul.
  • The understanding of what do we mean by miracles.
  • If God work in the world through miracles and ideas about God;
  • One example of miracles from holy scripture;
  • The power of miracles in revealing God, and the qualities of God, such as benevolence, omnipotence, immanence (God intervening in this world)
You will be marked on your ability to: use good English, organise information clearly and use specialist vocabulary where appropriate. In some questions you have to demonstrate you have considered more than one point of view.
